Latino Coelho Apartment, located in Avenidas Novas Lisbon, but could be located in any other “typical neighborhood that is part of the imagination of those who live in Lisbon” – is one of these examples. Architect Manuel Tojal was hired to “improve the functionality of the building” and proceed with its renovation, but the idea has always been to “maintain the identity” of the space. That is why the intervention was “not very invasive” and the choice of materials used – such as Lioz stone, “present in the vast majority of kitchens of this time” – “cared for”. Some elements, such as worked and ceilings, have also been preserved. This is because “the project has always worked with pre-existence with delicacy”.
